The Kingston RAM somehow turned into no-name Chinese RAM, and the staff apparently haven’t heard of anti-static precautions, just tossing bare DIMMs around in their hands – I’d been warned that CPL were a bit dodgy, but missed checking the RAM as the guy in the shop “read out” Kingston from it when he put it in the bag!
Assembly was fairly easy, follow the numbers in the Shuttle manual.
Cross fingers and power on, the system runs for about a minute or two then shuts off. Doesn’t seem to be heat-related, changing the BIOS settings to “foolproof” resulted in it running.
TODO: Find which settings are causing the problem.
