Crap bike lanes of the South Eastern suburbs, a quick overview.
First the non-bikelaned Rosstown Rail trail with number one son, accompanying part way to school. Do the chicane dance with oncoming and passing cars due to cars stored on both sides of Murrumbeena crescent & Oakleigh road. Part company into Koornang road for the first of the woeful city of Glen Eira “parking / bike lanes” that are full of parked cars and unusable for cycling, meanwhile motorists whiz past the right elbow, righteously fuming that you’re not in the bike lane. Turn into Neerim road, another identical bike lane, this time with added potholes and chewed up surface due to several year’s of apartment building. A zig and a zag through Oakleigh in the City of Monash and up the oh-so-squeezy bike lane the length of Atherton road – barely wide enough for a set of handlebars between parked cars and passing traffic. Wouldn’t normally use any of these “bike facilities” but I thought it’d be interesting to get them recorded for the PassBox people
