I can’t remember an evening ride home when I’ve had to squint through that many insects; whatever they were, flies, gnats, none of them biting, but a constant pattering against my face, eyes and arms. A bit too dark for the sunnies so I took them off for a while and tried to ride with eyes half shut, then gave up and put them back on.
Good news is that the new section of the Scotchmans Creek bike path has been joined up at the Huntingdale road end, a few more days and the other end will go in and there’ll be a decent 3m wide concrete path through Huntingdale wetlands rather than the rutted & broken old 1.8m tar path
