A sunny Sunday afternoon and time to go for a longer ride, and finally somewhere near the bay, well out of my 5km lockdown circle. Djerring trail to Caulfield, then down Inkerman to St Kilda along the route proposed for the major separated bike lane. Through the back streets to Beacon Cove including what felt like a maze at the end. Fishermen, kids, roller-skaters, the pier and foreshore full of people out enjoying the weather and post-lockdown freedom.
Back along the foreshore and bayside trail from Port Melbourne through St Kilda and down to Brighton, then inland and straight up North road – a road I’ve avoided for a year or two, not sure if the traffic is getting worse or I’m just getting older and less prepared to put up with the noise & aggro along there. Last few streets through Carnegie to Hughesdale along assorted suburban streets.
