Longer Sunday afternoon ride, although the wind had come up so I should have gone out earlier in the morning. Fairly strong and constant westerly the entire time, so it made the first part down the Djerring trail and the last bit home along Neerim road enjoyable, but some of the mid section along the rail line in Mount Waverley were hard going.
Ran into a work colleague as he was heading out for his ride and stopped to say hello across the road, then made my way through Sunday walkers & riders along the Gardiners creek and Anniversary trails and Ferndale track.
Stopped for a coffee in Central Park and found a tree to lean on out of the wind, watching more dogs & people out and about. My curiosity now partly answered; in Stonnington council dogs must be on leads under 3m long, in Monash council it’s 1.5m and non-retractible. All I need now is Glen Eira and I’ll have covered the local council areas I mostly ride through.
