Off for the figure eight, Gardiners creek trail to Glen Iris wetlands, up the Ferndale track, down the Anniversary trail and back through the golf course. Home run is south to Murrumbeena and back along the Djerring trail. Lots’n’lots of people out and about, seemed to be a day for young teens on bikes. There were way too many scary moments on the Gardiners creek trail as oncoming riders pull out to overtake two or three-abreast pedestrians, then look up and see me, but have committed to going so they just barge on through.
Ferndale track is BMX and jump-bike central at the moment, every kid on wheels is tearing around over the home-made jumps, dodging the pedestrians, joggers & dog walkers, and every now and then someone goes tearing past with a metre-long shovel handle stuck out as they take the family garden tools out to wreck another section of park.
