Went out for a meander and discovered laneways I could swear I’ve never seen or ridden before, including the very tight footpath in the photo cutting through from one street to another. Probably illegal to ride along it, but I’d got there by following a big council sign that said “Cycle Route” with an arrow, needless to say it had directed me off down a side street and there were never any more signs or any indication of where this cycle route would take me!
Hard-rubbish collection time in and around Malvern East so I got a good view of what the locals dump out for collection; anyone need ten or twelve 20kg bags of ground rubber pellets?
Popped out somewhere near the top end of Hedgeley Dene and circled part of the park, then back out and all the way up the boneshaker of an alleyway to Waverley road, amusingly found it to be a strava sgement called “Tollington’s Arse.” Then it was down to the creek, around a bit and home up the Gardiners creek and Scotchmans creek paths to Oakleigh. I half thought of looping around the suburb to get it up over 20km but couldn’t be bothered
