The afternoon didn’t quite go to plan, but overall pretty much what I intended – out to the end of the Djerring trail, up the Eastlink trail to the Mullum Mullum, then back west until it crossed, or got near, the Gardiners creek trail and home. Somewhere I missed while heading north and got onto the Dandenong creek trail and gradually curved around to the east so had to make my way up to Ringwood and through to the Mullum Mullum, then on the way back I went to far and ended up coming down to the Anniversary trail and home that way. An enjoyable afternoon out, including a stop at Hartwell for a much needed coffee – coffeneuring 2021 number two, and a very large donut – then home along familiar paths.
Lovely bits of bushland and creek trails, with a suprising amount of up and down while the adjacent freeways stay straight and level – such a shame that the only way Melbourne gets good bike paths is as a sweetener thrown in alongside a few billion dollars of freeway
Plenty of people out and about too, everyone enjoying their nearly-no-lockdown weekend
