Sunday afternoon ride, I’ve been meaning to do this one again for a while. Out to the end of the Djerring trail at Yarraman then down the Eastlink trail and along the creek to Carrum, back up the bay and depending on how far around the bay I got, north or east to get home.
The constant southerly blowing the entire time made the exposed track down the creek and along the bay hard work. Added degree of difficulty was the roadworks all the way from Carrum to Mordialloc all along the rail line as it gets the next dose of level crossing removals and station rebuilds. A pause for a breather and a coffeeneuring macchiato as I turned off the bay, then home straight north with a tailwind was a blessing.
One good thing about the wind was that it meant that as I rode past the ibis rookery I could see them but didn’t have to smell them!
