Wherein the coffee shops of the south-east conspire against me
Left work early, in 30°+C heat, determined to sit with an iced coffee & relax and make it to 11 coffeeneuring coffees for 2021. Got to Pinewood, via a bit of Blackburn road ugliness, to my intended destination to find it seems to be permanently closed. Made my way down to Scotchmans creek and got part way home when I realised there’s a cafe just up from Huntingdale wetlands… except I got there to find them closed for the afternoon. Now determined to get my iced coffee I kept going south, thinking of Huntingdale shops, but found Basil & Macrina tucked away in a side street in East Oakleigh and in the process of cleaning and closing up… but open enough for my coffee. Yay, retired to Reg Harris reserve and sat in the shade with my not-quite-cold-enough iced coffee
Then straight home along main and lesser main roads, unpleasant in the heat, and I suspect there’s a lot more of it to come for the summer
