The well worn route, although I made the mistake of leaving home to hit all the school pick-up traffic on day two of term. Through the suburbs to Gardiners creek, north to the Anniversary trail, down Ferndale track to the Glen Iris wetlands, south through Hedgeley Dene and suburbs then home along the Djerring trail. Surprisingly cool and breezy, very different to the last few hot days. Lots of gravel & mulch washed around on the paths after last weekend’s rain
Watched as a motorist nearly drove into six pedestrians, two electric scooter riders and a cyclist. Yet again on Murrumbeena road where the Djerring trail crosses, there are pedestrian lights for the crossing but the drivers simply don’t look, they come flying around the corner from Neerim road into Murrumbeena road, straight through the red light as people are crossing, then stop at the next set of lights to re-enter Neerim road. One day someone will end up in hospital or worse
