Wasn’t meant to be in Melbourne this weekend, but the family has a plague – not the plague though – so they’re on the couch and I’m out riding
Down to St Kilda and around to Port Melbourne, back in to the city along the light rail bike path. Pick my way through Southbank behind another couple of cyclists, 10km/hr max. yes sir certainly sir. Over the river and whoops, accidentally found a Moomba festival. Back to St Kilda road and around the city to Richmond, Bridge road looks dead these days, hardly any cafes have tables out, fewer still have people at the tables. Around the river and up Gardiners creek, south along Glenferrie road and start to look for an iced coffee, Petrol at an eye-watering 221.9c/l but no coffee shops caught my eye. Finally settling on Coffee and Soul and a sit in Central park. Said hello to half a dozen curious dogs that wanted to snuffle either me or the coffee then back on the bike for the last stretch home, Bourke road and Neerim road, enjoying (not) the City of Glen Eira’s finest bike lanes(tm)
The Garmin says a very eye pleasing 44.88km, but Strava says its only 44.87km, I do like the way they disagree at times, and calculate travel times and averages differently
