The joys of the offroad bike path along Gardiners road in Notting Hill. When first built, only a year or so ago, it crossed all the side roads only a metre or so in from Gardiners road. Of course motorists ignore the Give Way to Cyclist signs and either try to run you down or queue across the bike path waiting to turn, blocking it. For the last few weeks the council has dug up all the new intersections, relocated the bike path crossing to be a car length back and requiring cyclists to do two sharp turns to zig-zag onto the crossing, then another two to get back off it to where the path is. Of course this now means that rather than being blocked by the car waiting to turn… it is blocked by the second car, whose driver also ignores the Give Way sign, or that the first driver is travelling faster as they’re trying to get to Gardiners road to turn.
