One very windy ride! Out after breakfast and an impressive tailwind down along the Djerring trail and Dandenong creek trail, managed to sit on 40km/hr for a while on the flat gravel path past the stinky ibis rookery. Rain started as I got down to the bay & continued most of the way to Frankston where I met the rest of the family at the station, with their bikes. Then up along the path to Langwarrin & the McClelland Sculpture Garden, a fascinating place for a visit and a wander… but preferably on a warmer day! Our first port of call was the cafe for a large warming coffee & pastry. An hour or so exploring the sculptures, then back down to Frankston & north along the rail-side trail to Kananook where the family caught the train home and I rode the rest of the way.
Oof, what a ride. Ridiculously strong winds, I saw later that it was up to “gale force” coming off the bay & gusting stronger. Bizarre to see absolutely no windsurfers, yachts, kite-surfers or other small watercraft out
Finally got home in time for a much-needed late lunch feeling that I’d spent a bit of energy today
