Early morning start as I tried to be out the door at 6am, but only made it out of bed by then. Off in the dark to the end of the Djerring trail then turn south down along the Eastlink & Dandenong creek trails. The creek and surrounds is a mess of stinking mud and overflowing plastic rubbish from the recent heavy rains, but still an enjoyable run down through the farmland and creekside tracks to the bay. Amazing how different it is turning on to Beach road, the Saturday morning mass bunches go flying past in either direction, the very first one I saw was being passed by an angry bloke in a ute, screaming out the window & blasting on the horn - driver behaviour here hasn’t changed in decades. Up along the bay, sometimes on the bay trail, sometimes on the road, then inland, a brief exploration through Elsternwick park and eastwards home along Glen Huntly road
Fantastic weather and a great morning out, the only problem was having to be home by 9.30 for other duties
