Just like spring rain…. a light sprinkle on a warm afternoon, gradually increasing as I made my way up the Djerring trail to Caulfield and a lap around the outside of the race course, the smell of rain on the road, path and gardens boosted by smell of wet horse… and horse poo. Warm wet quiet pleasant ride until the close-pass squeeziness that is the Neerim road bike lane back through Carnegie & Murrumbeena
One amusing event; yesterday on Kangaroo road a guy was putting something in the boot of his SUV, then turned and walked straight out into my path in the bike lane without looking, then jumped half a metre in the air as I called & swerved around him. This afternoon the same guy with the same car in the same spot came running out of his front gate, head down in the rain, not looking, and ran straight out into the bike lane in front of me to go around his car and get in without getting wet. Saw him a bit earlier today so had a bigger swerve around him and no shout today
