Djerring trail, Dandenong Creek trail, Scotchmans Creek trail. Hot and windy wherever I was, not helped by very poor sleep the past couple of nights. Made it all a bit of a slog
Intermittent railway work crews all the way down the Djerring trail, had to jump off and back on the bike path three or four times to get around their worksites. One wolfwhistle as I rode past one site, a particularly odd piece of behaviour, perhaps my legs look better than I thought
Cicadas were screaming in the trees as I got down past Yarraman, later on the wind picked up and they quietened down. Not really paying attention and twice I managed to take a wrong turn off the Dandenong creek path back in to the houses and had to retrace my path
Clipped by a speedy e-scooter rider who overtook with insufficient clearance, luckily just his jacket flapping against my elbow. Then half a minute later three zoomy one-wheel things, first one almost shooting off into the bushes as his attempt to overtake coincided with two cyclists coming around the bend head-on at him. Most annoying part of it, he had a pair of speakers blaring out Eye of the Tiger as he rode off, so that got stuck in my head for a while
Slowly up the hill from Jells Park through Wheelers Hill, then more hot wind on the stretch home along Scotchmans Creek. Should have called in for an iced coffee somewhere but went straight home for lunch
