Hadn’t got up early as intended, so I went out late in the morning to hopefully miss the hottest part of the day, supposedly around 4pm today.
All up quite enjoyable despite the heat, the beaches were packed, I suspect there will be plenty of lobster-red sunburn later, and a fair few grumpy people with parking tickets judging by some of the idiot parking I saw – 4WDs crammed in an emergency entrance “do not park here” gate?
It was 33°C when I left home, 37°C by the time I got to Cheltenham, but thankfully cooler at the bay with a sea-breeze as well, back down to just under 30°C, and stayed that way most of the way down to Mordialloc and back towards the city. Around Elwood it started climbing again, back up to 37°C at St Kilda and over 40°C once I turned inland, just touching 43°C in St Kilda East before dipping back to a balmy – or is that barmy – 39°C as I got home
Unsure about that forecast from Klimatt.app below, seems to be low by at least 10°C!
