Thought I was going to go and ride the Ferndale trail loop but changed my mind as I went out the gate, off up the Djerring trail to Caulfield and down Glenferrie road to meet Scotchmans Creek, and the Scotchmans Creek trail, then upstream back to Ashwood and home south down through the suburbs. Ran into the closed path earthworks that Jo had warned me about, but I’d misinterpreted her description and thought they were the next sports oval upstream of the wetlands, not downstream. No matter, cut around the oval on the gravel track to the wetlands, check for ducks and turtles, then continue on my way
