Volunteering on the #SuperTuesday count again, sensibly chose the count location just outside our house… forgetting that we weren’t living at home at the moment, so an early start and a ride to Oakleigh to grab an egg & bacon roll & coffee, then up the Djerring trail to the crossing for 7am.
Wonderful riding along the creek trail in the dark, crunching over the bark, only a tunnel of headlights and the quiet. Passed one or two early runners, dog-walkers and a single other cyclist
Two hours standing at my post counting cyclists… and a hotrod eScooter… and an electric longboard… and a motorcyclist taking a shortcut along the footpath to cross the railway. Bit colder than I expected, and a light sprinkle of rain around 8.15
Packed up and left at 9, I was intending to include myself on the tick-sheet but I suspect I forgot in my hurry to get moving and warm up, and to ride down to the public toilets in the park! Then back up the path and off to work, rescuing my sunglasses that I’d left on the ground, but I suspect forgetting my blue sign tied to the fence. I’ll pick that up this afternoon…
