Amused at the large roadsign on the Eastlink trail over the creek “No Motorised Vehicles On Bridge”, presumably what they’ve always intended is to prohibit motorbikes and cars, but these have never been allowed to drive down the shared footpath anyway. If its intended as a weight limit then they should state that, although that’s confusing since an unpowered tandem with two riders is far heavier than the kids on trailbikes that I’ve seen here. Currently they’re forbidding e-bikes and e-scooters, both of which can legally use the path and theoretically have to use a complicated detour involving walking along other footpaths and using even lighter weight pedestrian bridges!
