Two entertaining events on the ride home along the creek this evening. First, rolling through the Huntingdale wetlands at a very gentle pace, recovering from my cold & enjoying looking at the ducks. See two women walking along in front of me, one on the left of the centre line, one on the right, so I slow down and ring my bell. Woman on the left leaps to the right, woman on the right leaps to the left. BOOMP as they shoulder barge each other and nearly bounce back half across the path. I rode past on the grass trying very hard not to giggle as one of them desperately apologised “Sorry, sorry, I’m so sorry” … not sure if it was to me or to the other woman
Then later, came around a curve to meet a woman walking towards me with two super energetic small dogs on 3m long leads, one red, one blue, one lead in each hand. The dogs had clearly decided that bikes on a bike path were just what they’d been waiting for and were barking like mad and running crazily around and around in circles…. one clockwise, one anti-clockwise. Owner was looking trussed up like a maypole and trying desperately to work out what to do next
