First day of a long weekend at Lorne on the #GOR, first afternoon to go for a ride down to Kennett River to enjoy the view, enjoy the coffee, and not enjoy the close passing scary drivers. Am I getting older and less ok with their dangerous antics, or are they getting worse? I suspect the latter.
Some truly horrendous driving, some near me, some everywhere else … like the guy who stopped on the apex of a corner so his passenger could get out and take photos. Or the driver behind me who overcooked a corner and stomped the brakes, all the while towing a caravan that locked up its tires and swayed and smoked towards the guard rail … at least he was far enough back that if he’d hit it I’d have been around the next bend. Fire trucks police and ambulance near Wye River too, a motorcyclist had crashed into the embankment and was being carefully collected. Rubber side down people, and stop watching the scenery while you’re driving!
As always though, I enjoyed my coffee, my two hours out. No koalas or black cockatoos today, I think I heard some flying in the distance. A pair of gleaming white gannets out over the bay near Wye, a small mob of roos at Kennett, nothing much else for wildlife
