Down to the lake on my Wednesday afternoon work-from-home break, cut through the golf course driveway and gravel road down to South Oakleigh primary and onwards to the lake. I looked at a few magpies, a few magpies looked at me, but none of them have decided that swooping season has started yet
Clockwise around the block that will become the railyards, enjoying the dirt roads, the bush and the birdlife before it all gets bulldozed and concreted. I always seem to see Eastern rosellas here, and today was no different, in the trees alongside the golf course and around the lake. Around the lake and up through Oakleigh South, cut through the BMX track and out the park at the north end where I picked up a school jumper sitting on the ground. Decided to do my good deed for the day and detoured back around to the primary school to drop it off in the lost property, then back home the same way I’d come out, gravel road, golf course driveway, Haughton road back to the station
