A busy day with a family bushwalk and late lunch outing, so I didn’t get out for a ride until late in the afternoon and was already feeling well exercised. Up the Erskine Falls road as far as the tip turnoff, then detour down along the firetrail that may or may not be a nature park, forestry, or private road. Seems a bit unclear; at one end it has a sign that looks the same as other forestry signs, “Management Vehicles Only” and a 3m wide open section of fence, so I rode in that way. Then part way down through the forest there’s a wide-open gate that has a half-hidden sign saying “no entry” that I may not have seen. Further on there’s another open gate and another sign behind me that says “no entry” back up the way I just came out, then finally at the end you come back to the road and meet a gate that has all sorts of signs on it saying that horses, bushwalkers, bicycles and cars are not allowed up the road that I just came from. Perhaps I shouldn’t go that way next time
Somewhere along the way I lost my sunglasses, took them off when it was dull under the trees and thought I’d put them in the back pocket, but must have missed and ended up dropping them in the bush
Then back around past QDOS, up to Teddys Lookout, down through town to call in at the chemist and buy some new sunglasses, and home through the main street of Lorne
