Another day of near constant rain, somewhere around 15mm so far since 9am. Damp sandals back on for another brief roll around on the #fixie when it eased up to a gentle mist some time around 5pm. Everything wet, pools of water everywhere, nearly had the entire paths and parks to myself
Malvern East Urban Forest so quiet and wet that I came around a curve and surprised a heron that was paddling along the bike path feeding in the water – which also says something about the quality of the path drainage. As usual, no camber, no drainage
Then down to Malvern East station, an emergency stop to avoid being flattened by the driver who ignored the stop sign as she drove out of the car park, and a few choice words in my outside voice to request she perhaps stop next time
Onto the Scotchmans Creek trail, up and over Warrigal road and upstream to the Huntingdale wetlands – and very wet they were – the creek rushing, the ponds all very full. Seems that everything has gone down since earlier, the high-tide line of plastic crap and weeds is well above the path in many places
Then finally, home again and change back into dry clothes
