Late afternoon outing after some tiring domestic duties, felt very slow and weary. Off to the west, Djerring trail to Caulfield and on down Inkerman street, then south and south-east through Ripponlea. Found a few tempting #bluestone lanes and cautiously rode through them – testing how my shoulder feels and how my riding on non-smooth surfaces is. Still not great, and hitting bumps when I’m not expecting them is a bit painful. Then it was back home via the Rosstown Rail-trail most of the way, I rarely ride it in this direction so its unusual. Found that the roadworks at E.E. Gunn reserve have finished and the road reopened, so tried the newish bits of railway-side path towards Ormond shops, then more back-and-forth until I got back on the rail-trail, including a dead-end street that ends in a car park for a block of flats … but one that includes a narrow path beside the flats onto the next road, a cut-through that I’ve used in the past
Tempted to stop for an iced coffee or icecream, but the southerly wind was too tiring and I didn’t want to sit outside in it. Kept going until I got home
