I could have said, “We’re going to Bonnie Doon”, but I’ve never seen The Castle. After the unexpected climb over the Strathbogie range yesterday it loomed a bit like a bogey man towards the end of the day’s ride, so Strathbogie-man it is
“Tour de trail” this morning, Mansfield to Bonnie Doon and back with a free muffin and coffee. Then sat around for a while before retracing yesterday’s route to Euroa, had a beer in the pub then a pizza elsewhere, then caught the evening train back to Melbourne
Amazing coincidence, stopping for a drink at Merton I spied a jersey that looked familiar, walked over to the park and met some people I used to ride with 30yrs ago! Sheer good luck and timing, said a quick hello, turned down a mid-ride beer, and took off up towards the Merton gap and over the range – much easier from this side than yesterday
