I discovered recently that my longest ride in April was only 25km! Admittedly, it was that nasty bit of cross-country sand tracks from , but I really should get out more, and for longer
So off in the sunny afternoon, I’d decided to head to Jells Park but couldn’t work out if I’d go north or south from there … ended up doing a bit of one and more of the other. Poked around some of the gravel and dirt tracks, the one marked “track closed ahead” was the one that took me through to Nortons Park and previously unexplored areas. Then it was across to the Eastlink trail and on down the creek to Yarraman, back home along the Djerring trail
Lots of kids and families out in the parks, a group of eight mono-wheel thingies zoom zoom zoom past in Yarraman, the riders all very scifi. One screaming drug affected woman in Springvale hurling her shopping out into traffic and one gang-gang cockatoo screeching and swooping through the trees – can you guess which I preferred meeting?
