Another sneaky afternoon escape, out for an hour as a late lunch break. Off to the south towards Karkarook lake and in search of #coffeeneuring2024 #coffee number three. I didn’t quite make it around the lake, turning off and taking the scenic gravel path around Clarinda – who knows for how much longer, the entire block is due to be bulldozed and concreted and turned into a railway stabling yard for the SRL “soon”
Then some concrete tilt-slab architecture, big nondescript buildings and car parks, an industrial estate that surely has a hidden cafe … somewhere. Aha! It did, tucked away on the side of a building, “Miss Mavis Cafe”, still open at 3pm on a workday, and happy to provide a nicely made short macc. and a very tasty warmed chocolate muffin. Nom nom nom…
Then back into the start of tradie commute traffic through the industrial bit, cross South road and into SUV-mum school pick up traffic. I’m not sure which was worse, both were very slow moving and a right pain to turn through at intersections
