A short afternoon outing on a cool and partly rainy day
Up the Djerring trail to Caulfield – stopping off along the way at the one open LBS to look for bar tape, specific bar tape – then south down the new Queens parade bike path, back along Glen Huntly road, whatever it is through Carnegie, and Kangaroo road through Murrumbeena
Amuses me that Bicycle Network has an article about the Queens Parade bike path warning all and sundry how it had to be made 2.5m wide and not 3.0m wide because of vocal “tree saving” locals … who may have actually been more concerned about the loss of on-street parking. At 2.5m wide the shiny new path is far wider, better marked, and much more rideable than many of the old paths that get down to less than the width of my handlebars in places!
