Down alongside the rail line to Gardiners Creek trail, up the hill, pause for a coffee and on through autumnal colours in the parks. Stop to look for birdlife in the Glen Iris wetlands – a Nankeen Night heron standing dead still and hiding in the reeds, other water birds paddling about, a few words with a photographer stalking them. Back home through the urban forest
