Not quite as bad as that day with the , but memorable. Kept me on my toes, bike being blatted back and forth either in towards the parked cars or out into traffic.
Djerring trail to Caulfield then Inkerman Street down towards the bay, turn right onto St Kilda Road, into the wind and for the worst of the buffeting - especially in around the office tower blocks. Detoured off towards Government House and Kings Domain, curiosity had me seeking out the site of Camp Sovereignty – which I found, tents billowing and pulling out of the ground, eucalypt smoke blowing every direction from the fire. The wind drowned out the speakers’ voices from where I was standing, so back down to the river and upstream homewards – south side of the Yarra as far as the path goes, then cross to the north bank to the start of the Gardiners Creek Trail, up the trail and take the lesser-used south side of the creek through to High Street, then cross over and rejoin the older main trail. Was half tempted to stop in for a Fathers Day beer as I neared home, but after ninety minutes in the wind I’d had enough, straight home and inside!
