There I was thinking I’d waited out the rain. Nope. Gardiner Road and it started bucketing down, poured all the way home . Gutters were overflowing, massive waves from passing cars, drains blocked up and forcing rivers back down the roads
Nothing for it but to enjoy it, soaked as I rode along the Scotchmans Creek Trail and watching the creek roaring alongside with runoff. A surprise pair of Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos calling up in one of the trees
Most amusing part was waiting for the bike path lights to change to cross Huntingdale Road, the crossing is at the bottom of a dip, so the road was flooded to the height of the curb, lapping up onto the footpath. Most drivers were slowing and pulling out to avoid the flooded pools, but one hero spotted yours truly standing near the lights and decided to speed up and swerve in, sending a massive wave hurtling up and into me. Already wet, I did not care, if he got his jollies that way, well I think it says more about him than me
