OK, what fool originally titled this ride “Fri …” – just because its the last working day does not make it a Friday
We finished up early for the last working day of the year, then I took myself off for a meandering bit of wandrering around Notting Hill, aided by the newly installed map on my Garmin. Up and down quiet suburban streets, plenty of people mowing lawns and washing cars, all getting ready for their family Christmas gatherings. One amusing long north-south street in the industrial part, all the maps show it goes straight through to Wellington Road … and it does, except that there’s a Mercedes factory half way along and the road goes straight through the factory and is signed “PRIVATE”. Another side road appears to join onto the bike path, and it would, except for the 3m high chain link fence between the two. You can never trust the maps 100%
