… my third coffee-related run-in with security! For months whenever I grabbed a morning coffee I’d wheel the bike into the campus centre, lean it against a wall near the coffee shop, grab the coffee and leave. Never had any problems, then twice one of the building security came and gave me a big talking to about bicycle being prohibited in the building. So now I’ll leave it just outside the door, helmet tangled through the wheel. Of course today this meant that security discovered it and were in the process of securing it with their U-lock, instead they gave me a big talking to about leaving bicycles unlocked and not in the official bike hoops

Apparently I cannot bring my bicycle into the building, and I cannot leave it outside without a lock. If I don’t have a lock I’m meant to find the security people and they will lend me a lock. However, the security people are inside the building and I cannot bring my bike into the building, nor leave it outside unlocked while I go to find them … I give up, no more coffees from Artichoke & Whitebait
