A stupidly hot day and we have to pack up the camping gear and drive back to Melbourne, where & when will I squeeze in a bike ride without frying myself?
Evening time, still stupidly hot although the sun is starting to dip down, perhaps a very gentle roll around the suburb to get the essentials – milk for a cup of tea and noodles from Mr Hot Wok, my candidate for Australian of the Year – anyone who can stand in front of a flaming wok & smile & cook me dinner deserves a medal today
Road rage in Chester Street, old mate has stopped two car lengths back from the traffic light to make room for his invisible friend, so of course the sensors can’t detect his car and the lights stay red. Three cars pull up behind and drivers hoot and scream abuse, but will old mate roll forward? No of course not, he’ll sit staring slack jawed at the red light until I roll past to the front, the mighty steel mass of the AWOL tripping the sensor and letting us all through as the lights change
