A hassle of a commute
Three old Greek ladies side by side on a narrow section of the path, chatting away. Ring … ring … RING. Nope. “Excuse me, can I get through!” OH OH OH… and two shuffle over to only be using half the path. As I pass through I’m loudly berated “You ring! you ring!”. Um yeah, right. I did
Browns Road bike lane, emergency stop to avoid young lad in his sporty Alfa, nah mayt, not slowing for nobody. Give way sign can go get f##$%ed
Dandenong Road service lane, riding up the narrow contra-flow bike lane. Ah, I’ll stop here because there’s a muppet on a huge delivery “bicycle” riding down the middle, helmetless, head-down and staring into and chatting loudly into his phone on the handlebars. OI! He looks up, stops, smiles and nods
Fifty metres up the road, a queue of cars is waiting to merge from the service lane to Dandenong Road – and queued across the contra-flow bike lane as always. One driver sees me and inches forward to make room, but the driver behind is having none of that, immediately pulls up to leave less than 10cm between their bumpers
Nice weather though
