Sunday afternoon outing, off upstream along the Scotchmans Creek Trail through the suburbs and up to Glen Waverley, then down the hill to the creek. Wended my way through streets I’ve not ridden before and saw an amazing array of absolutely enormous mega-mansion faux-chateau boxes. Truly hideous in my opinion, and not a skerrick of vegetation left on the block as one by one an old house and garden in the “sought-after leafy eastern suburbs” is bought and bulldozed and a huge box built in its place
Very wet and muddy down along the creek once I got through to Dandenong Creek, but time for some exploring out aroiund Tirhatuan Wetlands – very wet, very flat. Then I was starting to run short of daylight hours so a straight line home up the intermittent path alongside Wellington Road and after traffic noise annoyed too much, down to the Djerring Trail for the last two suburbs
