Tuesday special, the ute stopped across the bike path crossing. Not once, but twice. Clayton road bumper-to-bumper traffic, our crossing light goes green as does the side road, bloke in ute plants his foot to get around the corner ahead of all the bikes & pedestrians and succeeds only in blocking the entire path then stopping across it. Myself and one other rode up to his driver door and sat there, pointing up at the crossing light until he backed up and let us and the people behind all through
Then the Dandenong Road crossing, again, traffic on the road is stationary, bumper to bumper. Old mate in a ute is stopped square across the bike path. Our lights change so we can all cross on foot and bike, and as I squeeze around the back I try to wave him forward a metre or so to let others through. Of course this enrages the drive of semi-trailer two lanes away who leans out the window and starts screaming abuse starting with “Where the f*ck is he meant to go ya f*king C*t” and going downhill from there
Good luck to anyone on the roads today meeting that professional driver
