Well that was a bit unexpected! Half terrifying, half hilarious. I’d made it all of two hundred metres from work up to the Uni exit at Bayview Avenue … and had to suddenly stop because there was a woman driving the wrong way around the multi-lane roundabout heading straight at me. Apparently we are not allowed to cast nasturtiums upon the driving skills of our overseas students, but sometimes as we watch the dazed and confused come to the end of a road and turn right to go the short way around a roundabout, it is very very tempting
Once safely past her it was home along the usual route, with a slight detour down Chester Street in Oakleigh to see what’s become of my old favourite bakery. Sure enough they’re packed up and gone, all that remains is a print of the Eiffel Tower on the wall and few bits and pieces on the floor. Where next for good fresh bread on the weekends?
