Only upstream for a short section, but it is unexpected to meet that much water flowing down the road. Burst pipe judging by the equipment in attendance. That wasn’t the only Atkinson Street excitement though, a hundred metres up the hill I met a headphone wearing gent walking straight at me on the “bike only” path. Came to a stop, he nearly walked into me and then looked up, I pointed over to the left and said “That’s the footpath, this is bike only” and immediately had a lungful of screamed profanity and a wind up for a punch, so quickly took off around him leaving him screaming abuse behind me … and at the next cyclist coming up the hill
An amazing density of small insects flying around on the trail sections along the creek, the slightly warmer weather and dusk must have made for optimum conditions. I was very glad to be wearing my glasses, and to have kept my mouth shut!
Surprise wildlife – a pair of King Parrots flew past near Huntingdale Wetlands
