Photographs, January 1999
Taken on the 1999 BV Tasmanian bike ride, and a party afterwards. Unfortunately the photo scanner had a bad habit of putting a green streak across everything. For some reason half of these are in 4x3 rather than APS format (16x9), I guess either I knocked the little button on the camera, or I scanned them incorrectly.

Dead rat? No, its my hair!

Sando and young friend
We’re not quite sure where he acquired this backpack.

Cyclists on the way to the Famous Mount Elephant Pancake Barn
A fantastic road sign, we just had to stop and get the picture. Left to Right: General Paulus, Walter, Herr Sando, Adrain, Evanovitch and JR. The fuzzy blob below my handlebars is Hannibal the Elephant.

JR, Johnny and Chris with their young friends
Two young ladies decided to practice hair dressing, and the lads were willing guinea pigs.

Closeup of JR's hairstyle
More closely resembling a piece of Tasmanian road-kill than a hair-piece, JR reveals the top of his head.

The girls plot the next stage in Chris' makeover.

Six cyclists
Attempting to look serious and professional while wearing too much bright coloured sun block. L. to R. Joadie, LT, Paulus, Sando, Marie and Adrain.

Tour of Tassie #1
We stopped to let some real cyclists pass.

Tour of Tassie #2
Far more important than the race, a picture of my friends watching the race.

Pegasus Peter in Pub
Together with a young lady wearing a ballon for a hat.

Balloon Hats
Adrian and Megan looking like idiots – Adrian also demonstrating the correct use of the bendy balloons.

Open-mouthed astonishment
Mostly at the audacity of whoever stole the balloon hat.

Evan and bendy balloon
He’s either deep in thought, or about to burst a blood vessel inflating the balloon.

Balloon Sculpture
It was known politely as “the large bunch of grapes”, impolitely as “the elephant’s haemarhoids”.

Evan's balloon sculpture
And very proud of it too.

Le Grande Balloon sculpture
Demonstrating what too many balloons and too much beer can do.

Picnic in Launceston
After the ride, a bottle of wine in the park.

A bunch of people, at a party in Fitzroy
Celebrating the end of the 1999 Tasmanian bike ride.

Jo Habes and Rae Babe
They’re either dancing or wrestling…

Joadster, looking cool

Joadster, at a party
The rest of us were so exciting that she decided to read the paper.

Dom, charming Jo Habes

Adrian and Kaz at a party
At the house of General Paulus’, otherwise known as “the fishbowl”. Proof that cameras and alcohol do not mix.

General Paulus, outside
He’s looking in the window of “the fishbowl”, Napier street Fitzroy. And the question to ask is what is he doing to bring such a smile to his face?
